Thank you to everyone who is sending in images of work that they have done based on our book Woven Optical Illusions.

It is exciting to see what is inspiring you and to see what you are doing with the ideas! Please keep them coming – I’d love to feature you in an upcoming blog post!!

This week, the spotlight turns to nested squares. Susan Porter is a member of the Complex Weavers study group, 24 More or Less. Two of the members chose to work from Woven Optical Illusions this year and Susan not only did the nested squares, but took the whole thing further and created two scarves. Woven in Summer & Winter, Susan used the same threading from weaving her study group samples to weave the two scarves using yarns from her stash. One scarf is most definitely influenced by the nested squares, but the other has a feel, at least to me, of shadow weave influence too!

It’s great to see how things develop from an initial idea. Thanks so much for sharing, Susan.
