HONEYCOMB HYBRIDS (Intermediate I +)

Since I took a workshop from Stacey when I was just beginning to weave, I knew that she was the person to go to as I began to feel more comfortable with the basics.  This time I was ready for a deep dive into a single technique–Honeycomb. Knowing Stacey’s approach to teaching, I was confident that she would give me a good foundational knowledge of the technique as well as the freedom to explore what I could do with it.  I definitely was not disappointed.

Stacey is not interested in sending her students home with a completed scarf or tea towel.  What she wants to do is to get her students excited about a certain technique  through weaving small samples using her amazing stash of fibers–and excited I am.  I probably wove 15 samples–some of which I like better than others.  And I definitely have ideas in my mind for enough projects to keep me weaving happily for several years to come.  Even more exciting is the knowledge that I can actually figure out how to do things with this technique that I haven’t begun to explore.  And if I do get stuck, Stacey is just an email away.
