Stacey Harvey-Brown
I found weaving in 1991 and was obsessed in that first encounter. It took a while to find my way through commercial weaving, product weaving, finally coming back to where it all started – art weaving.
In my previous professional life I was a musician and oboe teacher so it was natural to gravitate to teaching weaving – that special moment when someone lights up with understanding and passion is priceless – and addictive!
I now create, exhibit and sell my art, write books on weaving and teaching courses online and in face-to-face studio workshops here at my home in SW France. I help people to unlock their creativity through weave and transform into weavers and weaving artists.
The Loom Room France
The Loom Room began in 1997 and opened its doors to students in 2004 when my husband Graham and I were still based in the Staffordshire Moorlands, UK.
Since 2017 we have a new location – warmer, drier and more space – in the wonderful sunflower and wine land of Gascony, SW France. Our house and huge garden, which we share with our three cats and very smiley, friendly Golden Retriever, Bailey, is just 4 kms south of the lovely old town of Nérac, set amongst fields. In this beautiful and slow-paced part of France, not only can we offer you great courses, but you get to experience the local way of life, fresh market produce and the special ambiance of Lot-et-Garonne and the Gers. Learning and living the good life – what could be better?
