Woven Optical Illusions are so much fun and it is always such a joy when folks send photos of work inspired by the book.

Heather Oelklaus sent me some wonderful images of optical illusions she wove in double cloth as table mats for her house, inspired by my piece called Piano Keys which was in turn inspired by an artwork of Jaka Bonča.

Heather has explored all around the topic and done it all on eight shafts!! The more sophisticated ones are done with pick-up – talk about dedication to the cause!

.

I am sure that you will agree that these are simply stunning designs!! Huge congrats, Heather!

.

Heather is also a fan of pin-hole cameras and a professor of photography who was taught to weave just a few years ago by her daughter. Good job, Cyan!!
