Remarkably, despite all the atrocities being forced on Ukraine, here is a wonderful textile event happening now!!!

This online exhibition of the 14th International Textile and Fibre Art Biennial “Scythia” Ivano-Frankivs’k, Ukraine, is running virtually from 1 -15 June. Included are works from textile makers from 33 countries (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, USA).

It’s the first time that Scythia has had to go online, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ludmilla Egorova, Anastasia Schneider and Andrew Schneider explained “We would like to continue cultural contacts and despite the situation to show the diversity of textile and fibre art from all over the world. It is very important for us, our country and our culture to continue the event.”

Please show your support for our textile friends and colleagues and promote the exhibition wherever you can.
